Argentina legend Diego Maradona (55), argued with fellow countryman Jauan Sebastian Veron (41) during a charity game in Rome, Wednesday night.

The Match of Peace was apparently organised to pay tribute to the Catholic Priest, Pope Francis which included the retired legend and current stars such as the likes of Ronaldinho, Edga Davis and Hernan Crespo.

However an off-the-ball encounter appeared to have started the fight, when the 55 year old lost his balance before Veron in the first half of the game.

The Argentines were seen quarreling with each other as they walked off the pitch on half-time, with Maradona pushing his countryman and former Manchester United star Veron until he was restrained by ex-Brazil defender Cafu and the security stuff.

Maradona was reported shouting ” I don’t f*** you about, i tell you straight to your face” at Veron.

According to Soccer Laduma the pair’s bitterness arises from when Veron was part of the “Nationalization Committee” that assisted in choosing the Argentines national team manager.

“Veron betrayed me like he did with Jose Luis Calderon. He acts like a big shot. I don’t want anything to do with him and his father” said Maradona in an interview with La Red.

Maradona’s team lost, with the game ending 4-3.
